Politics of Misinformation: Trump on Autism
Trump has previously linked vaccinations to causing autism, neither of these statements have been supported by scientific evidence. This theory was popularised by the disgraced British doctor Andrew Wakefield, who published a study in 1998 which falsely claimed that the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine caused autism.
