Apply to be:

A School Outreach Volunteer

yPolitics is recruiting volunteers from across the country to lead our school outreach sessions!

The yPolitics School Outreach Programme is our flagship programme aimed at increasing the political literacy of secondary school students across the UK. The programme has taken increased importance since the planned introduction of voting rights for 16 and 17 year olds for the 2029 election. This means that current 12 year olds will be voting in the next general election!

Our programme is aimed at KS3 & KS4 students, and provides them with a non-partisan introduction to politics. The sessions happen in the classroom and are an hour long (max) and can happen in PSHE lessons or after school.

This is a great opportunity for university students across the country to be part of the change in your local communities.

Role:

  1. Lead school outreach sessions at schools local to you either at university or at home.
  2. Receive all the training you'll need, so you go into the sessions feeling prepared and so the students get the most out of it.

Eligibility:

  1. Current university student
  2. Passion for politics and education
  3. Want to make a real difference in your community
  4. Strong public speaking and communication skills
