Apply to be:

Head of Socials

yPolitics is recruiting a Head of Socials to oversee our social media and creative work, with a specific focus on driving our short form video content.

This is an exciting opportunity for a student to take on an in-house role, and shape our social media strategy. The individual will work alongside the rest of the creative team.

We expect the individual to take up the role for a minimum of 1 academic year. We are willing to discuss other timelines for the right person. This is an unpaid role.

Role:

  1. Take responsibility for forming and executing our social media strategy, and have a large level of autonomy in doing so.
  2. Oversee the entire creative team, making sure all parts work well together.
  3. The ideal candidate will be willing to record some content and appear on our social media channels.
  4. Create social media graphics and content alongside the Social Media Manager for our Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Twitter/X.
  5. Be a part of the senior leadership of yPolitics, contributing to the overall direction of the company.

How is this role different to the social media manager role?

  • The social media manager role is focused on our day to day content output, growing and improving our social media output and engaging with our followers, whilst the Head of Socials role would suit someone with more experience in this area and with a specific interest in driving our short form video content.

Eligibility:

  1. Current university student (in some instances we will accept recent grads)
  2. Background and experience in creating social media content and graphics (e.g. Adobe/Canva)
  3. Artistic and creative
  4. Strong communication skills
  5. Interested in politics and journalism
